House Bill 4085 permits digital asset mining in industrial zones without special approvals and restricts localities from adding undue zoning requirements.

The Michigan Bitcoin Trade Council is SUPPORTING House Bill 4085.

Why?

The Michigan Bitcoin Trade Council supports House Bill 4085 because giving support to Bitcoin mining operations is crucial for Michigan to become a hub for Bitcoin innovators and entrepreneurs.

There have been instances of localities and municipalities putting undo taxes and regulations on Bitcoin miners either out of ignorance or because they were greedy and saw them as a cash cow. This is wrong.

House Bill 4085 prevents that from happening and makes sure that Bitcoin mining businesses can operate in industrial zones like any other businesses without any special taxes, regulations or zoning measures that would unduly discriminate against Bitcoin businesses.
